It is so waste time that we have to wait for the huge lines for people to serve us food in the dinning halls. We can save at least half of the time if we just serve ourselves. And also we can just get whatever how much food we want, instead wasting food or cant get enough.
It is not necessary to do safety checks on dorm rooms. Res Life staff will only be in each room for 5 seconds, and cannot look through drawers or anything not directly visible. Anyone with dorm contraband will just hide it, not remove it. Res Life knows this well- they say make sure prohibited items are "not visible" rather than "not present." What is the point of checking to see if students know how to hide things? ...more »
With interest in athletics growing and surrounded by professional sports teams, a sports management major would be a great addition to the business department. Plenty of co-op opportunities at NU, at other schools, and also with the local professional sports teams.
Receiving email notifications when something is changed on blackboard is a function I would like to see more of. I know it is possible to set up a blackboard account so that it will automatically notify all students in the class when something is changed or uploaded. I would like to see all blackboard accounts do this because it is impossible to know if a change has been made unless the professor takes it upon themselves ...more »
I am half Swedish and half Armenian. I am already part of the Armenian ASA organization, but would like to see a Swedish organization, as I am much more culturally invested in Sweden and am fluent in the language. I would like to be able to maintain my Swedish speaking skills, and just be able to continue experiencing Swedish culture. I am considering starting a club if there are enough other Swedish students.
Rope-off certain sections of the Matthews parking lot and dedicate them to 21+ pregame events. Simple way for Athletics/Student Life to increase attendance at games
Whether you're on your own laptop or your professor is logged into myNEU in the classroom's computer, the "Luminis Platform" will pop-up unexpectedly and ask you if you want to stay logged in. This is very disruptive and unwelcome, especially when it comes when you're in the middle of class, work, etc. Please get rid of it. I don't remember this being around last year. But somehow this year... it's here?
The new group study areas are beautiful, but are not being utilized appropriately by some students. Too often I see it being used as an area for friends to just hangout or just one individual using a whole conference room for themselves. Part of this issue can be derived from not being required to reserve the room. Enabling the requirement of reservations will open up more group space to students who really need it. Another ...more »
Right now we feature a random mix of music in our dining halls (when it is played). But why not support our other school activities and let student run radio stations be played in the dining halls?
The remote printing must be fixed for students using Macs. The help desk has told me that the remote print software company has not updated itself for the newest version of IOS. This must be fixed or NU must choose a different remote print service because it is unacceptable for having the service to not work with Macs, which a majority of students have anyway.
Stand up for students. Stop letting the BPD, the NUPD, and Councilor Ross continually erode the 4th amendment in the name of "busting parties." Start taking money away from "Operation Beer Pong" and put it towards a more prodcutive use for the school.
All the men's bathrooms smell terrible. Stick a deodorizer on the wall.
