The 3 swipe maximum at Outtakes for students on co-op with mealplans is very inconvenient; many students cannot find time to go to Outtakes multiple times a week due to spending so much time off campus and miss out on a service they have already paid for.
Organize events during finals where students can take a break to play with dogs to relieve stress, similar to other schools like Tufts, BU, Yale, and so on.
a public gmail calendar with campus events (including by departments or student groups) that the NU community can subscribe to. The current calendar through myNEU and/or OrgSync is clunky.
For all those who have used this online service, you know as well as I do how utterly confusing and irritating it can be. Every time you click a link from the left hand side, other links appear and disappear and rearrange themselves almost at random. The user-friendliness of the site is also poor as important functions, such as the one for narrowing down the search by category, are hard to find and even harder to use. ...more »
Has anyone ever experienced the annoying task of spending too much time looking for course? The current system is hard to look through and not user friendly. I want the 'Schedule of Classes' program to be reformed so that looking for classes is more stream lined and tailored to the individual. improvements should include - comments on the class and teacher right next to the course description - courses tailored to ...more »
Create and implement "Virtual Advising" so that all students can interact with their Academic Advisors whether they are in downtown Boston or downtown Shanghai through such tools as Skype.
Space in the library is almost impossible to come by during finals and the Alumni Reading Room is a semi-quiet place that takes up a lot of the first floor. Why not let students use it during finals (at least)?
It's a hassle to go to the gym and find a huge crowd, and all the machines and weights in use. Link the swipe in system and the turnstyles to some online software that simply monitors the number of people that come in and out and displays these numbers in real-time. After a month of monitoring, number ranges can be assigned crowdedness level (such as light, moderate and high). This could be viewed on MyNeu, among the ...more »
I still don’t know why we don’t have more purell dispensers around campus in general. Mostly every college, gym, hospital, public venue in general, etc. has this and I am not sure why Northeastern, particularly the gym, does not have hand sanitizers. It should also be put in places like the library and the Curry Student Center. Hopefully Northeastern will deem proper hand hygiene important enough to put in its budget ...more »
No one should have to face the terrible lines at the quick print stations in the library during lunch. It would be great to have quick print stations located in most, if not all buildings.
It would be nice not have to "call dibs on" or fight strangers for outlets around campus.
Create a student led program in conjunction with administrators to help students of any major on campus to submit professionally presented artwork to be displayed on campus in buildings related to the artwork's focus.
Set up color printing stations around campus, where students can send their color prints to be printed (same as the black and white one we currently have, but in color). Pages could be 20 cents each to off set cost
Work with ZipCar and the University to place cars on campus for students who register with the program to use for commitments outside the Boston area such as co-op interviews.
West village A towers lableled north and south on glass outside proctor station would be helpful, for students not living in those buildings. It can be very confusing figuring out which one is north and which is south
