Add a wait-list function for adding classes. First come first serve for the most popular electives, and no constantly checking to see if a seat has opened up!
Make Northeastern more bicycle friendly. Add an air and tool station, increase the number of covered bicycle racks, allow registration of bicycles with NUPD to deter theft, work with local bike shops to provide discounts on helmets and locks, and donate abandoned bikes to Bikes not Bombs!
incorporate this site into MyNEU. I'd feel more empowered to submit my input if there were more than 81 registered users. Also- it's clearly not representative of an undergraduate body of 15,000.
a public gmail calendar with campus events (including by departments or student groups) that the NU community can subscribe to. The current calendar through myNEU and/or OrgSync is clunky.
I know a lot has been done in past years to improve the printing situation and I am really a huge fan of the swipe and go printing. But all of this progress has been made null and void by the breakdown of the high speed printers. According to info commons employees, there are no plans to either fix or replace the broken printers. We have a higher volume of students now printing more than ever. Nearly any time of the ...more »
WinShape, Chik-fil-A's charitable organization, has donated millions of dollars to anti-gay marriage campaigns like Focus on the Family. Their brand of discrimination should not be tolerated by Northeastern. Northeastern is committed to diversity, equality and safety and this should extend to the Curry student center.
The printers in the library are always busy and the line is ridiculous when students are in a rush. and the printer in IV is always out of paper. Why dont we install a swipe and go printer in curry student center ground level at the information desk. The staff could refill the paper and students could quickly print instead of swiping into snell and waiting in those longs lines.
Books are great, but nowadays the library is being used for studying and a quiet getaway. Not many students use the stacks. I feel that putting more tables would be a better use of the space.
It would be nice not have to "call dibs on" or fight strangers for outlets around campus.
A large portion of Northeastern Students live off-campus, some further from campus than others. I do. It's very inconvenient to have to run home for food and gets expensive to buy food all of the time. I'd rather bring leftovers and heat them up. I don't know where I can find a microwave as I've looked in Curry and in the Library and have found none.
I am half Swedish and half Armenian. I am already part of the Armenian ASA organization, but would like to see a Swedish organization, as I am much more culturally invested in Sweden and am fluent in the language. I would like to be able to maintain my Swedish speaking skills, and just be able to continue experiencing Swedish culture. I am considering starting a club if there are enough other Swedish students.
More and more students are choosing to use bicycles as their means of transportation to campus. With bikes comes the need for simple reapirs. Similar to MIT, Berklee, and Harvard, Northeastern's campus should offer basic tools for bikers if needed for repairs on campus to get home or to a shop. This station could include an air pump, wrench, hex keys, etc.
