The Psychology Department posts a template of all the syllabuses for each section of each course being offered each semester, on their website. It is really useful for pre-registration times and course planning in general. Northeastern should make this mandatory by having other departments follow suit. I do not see why other departments have not.
We have evaluations for teachers so why shouldn't we have evaluations for co-op advisors? These individuals are just as important, if not more so, in a Northeastern education.
Anywhere there is a garbage can, there should be a recycling bin. The average student is unfortunately most likely not going to go hunt down a recycling bin when a garbage bin is closer. There are a few near the entrances to the floors but none throughout the rest of the floor. Also, if there are ANY on the first floor, I have yet to find them (besides the one in Argo). It's so simple but it can make a huge difference. ...more »
There have been some elevator issues going on in IV. Sometimes in IV East, the floor numbers that were pressed will all of a sudden switch off during the ride, after the first few people get out. The elevator then proceeds to go back down to the 1/F, forcing people to either stay in the elevator for the next ride, or get out and use a different elevator. There is also a specific elevator in IV West that will not go up ...more »
Remote printers in the West Village area. Have a couple REMOTE printers in H, not just the standard printers. Put the printer outside the RA office or by a camera if safety is a concern. There needs to be more printers in the residence area of campus, specifically WV where a majority of students live.
It would be nice to have a hot water spigot in the Library or in Curry (that is available for use 24/7) for those students who would prefer to bring tea from home instead of buying it from the expensive vendors.
The printer in IV is always out of paper. If it isn't out of paper, there is some kind of jam or swipe connection problem or toner problem or dead animal inside it that makes a noise when you try to print anything. I know no one can really anticipate the technical/biological problems with that printer, but can we at least put it behind a proctor's station so that people don't take the paper out for their own printers? ...more »
Use the idle computer screens around campus to show event-(and regular)-announcements as a screensaver. Similar to the slideshows on the screens everywhere. Groups would, ideally, be able to submit their event flyers to the system and get information out all over campus quite easily. I'm not on campus this semester, so I don't know if something like this is already in place, but the university I'm visiting does it ...more »
Instead of swiping everywhere, how much easier would it be to tap? Like the T system, swiping into snell would be much easier if students could tap their IDs at the doors. Less traffic, more study time!
I still don’t know why we don’t have more purell dispensers around campus in general. Mostly every college, gym, hospital, public venue in general, etc. has this and I am not sure why Northeastern, particularly the gym, does not have hand sanitizers. It should also be put in places like the library and the Curry Student Center. Hopefully Northeastern will deem proper hand hygiene important enough to put in its budget ...more »
West village A towers lableled north and south on glass outside proctor station would be helpful, for students not living in those buildings. It can be very confusing figuring out which one is north and which is south
Space in the library is almost impossible to come by during finals and the Alumni Reading Room is a semi-quiet place that takes up a lot of the first floor. Why not let students use it during finals (at least)?
